I’m sorry that you have to go through this awful mess. You shouldn’t have to pay this price just for reliable birth control. And? Bayer definitely is not very forth coming about hair loss and this product- they don’t even count it as a major OR minor side effect.
I hope you’re able to have it removed by your health professional and get your system back to normal.
Take care, and all the best to you.

I have had the Mirena for 3 years and i have lost lot of my hair you can see my scalp from far. People do not look at my face while talking to me anymore but to my head. I was known for having a long and healthy hair . I have used everything on the book and nothing seem to help. I eat right and healthy. Alopecia do not run in my family. The only stress i have; is the one i am having with my hair loss. The company should educate medical experts in what the real deal is.I? want my hair back πŸ™

Like crash dieting, a common occurrence of post-pregnancy is hair loss Typically, hair will start shedding a few weeks after childbirth, However, if you have hair loss after pregnancy AND have female pattern hair loss, your hair may not grow back. To help your hair to grow back, you should nourish your hair, increase blood circulation via some natural products.two of them which i prefer to use, anti hair loss shampoo and Ultra Nourishing Oil Treatment from “argan life products”? in the internet

I’m so glad that you found it? helpful. My husband didn’t really notice by looking at me either, but he did notice my hair seemed to be everywhere. And it definitely does make you feel like you’re going crazy, so I really feel for your wife. I hope that she’s able to have it removed and start getting her system back to normal, and good for you for caring and supporting her! That’s fantastic.
Best of luck to you both!

  7. TheJaneEden says:

When my hair started growing back it did take a while for it to really fill in. It’s back to its regular thickness now, but at first it did seem like it was maybe thinner.
Best of? luck to you, and thanks for your comments!

  8. TheJaneEden says:

Well you’ll be in my thoughts. I truly hope that everything will go back to normal? for you!

  9. TheJaneEden says:

It seems incredible that thousands of women experiencing hair loss can be described as a very unlikely side effect!
I hope that things are on the? mend now Nicki, and that your body is getting back to normal. Thanks so much for your comments!

  10. TheJaneEden says:

Thanks for posting that warning. It’s good to get the info? out!

I’M glad I came across this video because it has been an eye opener, she thought she was going crazy and I wasn’t much help…but THANK YOU? SOOO MUCH for this ENLIGHTING Video.

  12. turbonetic777 says:

WOW….my wife has had the mirena for 2.5 yrs and she’s had hair loss and infact We went to the Dr today and we have decided to have it removed! She too thought it was stress and im saddened bc she would ask me if I could tell and I honestly couldn’t really tell and? would tell her it was all in her head but I could now notice that her hair-line has receeded ALOT, and after taking a shower there’s a ton of hair in the tub always. My wife always had thick hair and it noticably not as thick.

Also did you notice some of the new hair regrowth? fall out? Not a lot of them, but a few. I’m wondering if that is just my normal cycle readjusting. :-/

  14. seximauibabe0 says:

It has been 4 months since my mirena removal and I have noticed new hair growth but the hairs are really thin….did? you experience that at first? Or did it start growing back the same thickness of the rest of your hair? Just wondering… Thanks in advance!

since last 1 1/2 yr, i was getting lot of health issues, incl hair loss. I can see? patches of scalp in the front. Just got my Mirena removed after 4+ yrs and wondering whether it will grow back. This video is definitely giving hope that my hair might grow back. Thank you.

  16. Mike Ware says:

alinastar9. I am also going thru lot of hair loss issues. Just got Mirena removed after having it? for 4+ years. If you dont mind, can you please provide more details of the cortisone treatment? I am aggressively looking for an appropriate doc and very confused about it. My email address is cherrymn@gmail.com. Your help is greatly appreciated.

  17. Nicki Myers says:

Very comforting to watch your video – I had Mirena put in on 19 Dec 12 & have already had it removed (18 Feb 2013) only had it in 2 mths b4 I decided to have it taken out. I felt if I didn’t get it out soon, I would soon be bald. Only 5 days since I’ve had it removed & the hair loss is still here, but it was great to hear that there is a possible end to this soon. I rang Bayer, although felt they played down the whole hair loss thing as ‘a very unlikely side effect’ – I? did beg to differ !!

  18. zgirl1972 says:

Thank you for the video. Not? only am I experiencing hair loss, but also have been diagnosed with Pseudo Tumor Cerebri after I had the IUD. Which if you have this diagnosis you should have the Mirena taken out immediately per the Mirena contraindications. Im getting it taken out today. If you experience vision problems, headaches, ear ringing please see a doctor immediately to have it removed.

  19. TheJaneEden says:

WOW! Thank you so much for your comments, and I’m so? glad that you didn’t stick it out to see how much worse it would get.

  20. alinastar9 says:

I had my Mirena removed in September of 2012, and by November? I began to see hair regrowth. However, I have been getting cortisone treatments in my scalp as well. Now, five months later, its looking so much better. Still slow but it is regrowing!

  21. TheJaneEden says:

I know what you mean about feeling like you’re losing your mind! And I think some women have a really rough time getting their doctors just to listen to them and not write it off as something else.
I really wish YOU all the best of luck and health. thanks for your comment,? and YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

  22. Catherine Holton says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I’ve had the Mirena in since November of 2011. I’ve noticed for the last several months that my energy has went out the window and my hair is falling out in ridiculous amounts. I thought maybe thyroid issues due to a family history of it, but something just keeps telling me that it is the Mirena. I’m scheduled to see my OB in a week and I’m having this thing removed, but not ruling out the other issue as well. I’m just glad to know? I’m not losing my mind.

  23. pinapplemangobananna says:

Did you do anything for the regrowth of your hair? I quit my hormonal birth control a few yrs ago, and Im still losing hair like crazy! It just wont stop. PLease? help. Im so desperate. Ive tried hair loss shampoo, biotin pills, Rogaine…

  24. TheJaneEden says:

Thanks so much for your comment. I don’t? think you’re alone in trusting your OB, and yet it sounds like many, many OBs/doctors just refuse to admit that Mirena could be the cause of the hair loss, despite thousands upon thousands of cases that prove otherwise.
If you were able to have it removed, I hope that recovery is quick and you start seeing regrowth soon!
    Take good care.

  25. Amy Dirkes says:

OMG!!! My hair is about half the volume it was about a year and a half ago. I experienced huge amounts of hair loss in the last year and didn’t know why. I even asked my beautitian and she said my hair ws much thinner than it was. I just wrote it off a stress until tonight anyway. I was just surfing the web and came accross this. I have ot admit I didn’t do my homework? I went off of my OB recomendations and friends as well. I am calling my DR tomorrow and having it removed!
