This review is from: Nioxin System 3 Scalp Treamtment 6.8 fl oz (Misc.)

My hair got significantly thinner within 9 months. Even my dermatologist said that after I showed her a current picture and pictures from the last 9 month. I had thick beautiful hair. I am in my 60s. I’m pretty sure it was medication related (stomach-acid reducer med. I spent hours on the web researching what could have caused the hair loss and eventually related it to the med, which can reduce the amount of vitamins your stomach absorbs). But I also used too many hair chemicals/treatments to try to tame the frizzes (mainly due to dryness) and get it softer. So it was impossible to really know what caused it. I decided to stop the med. During my web research, I read about Nioxin on a web forum and tried it. It really helped quickly to bring my hair back to life.

I use the #4 shampoo and the #4 conditioner (33.8 oz size is economical and I bought bottle pumps to dispense it at Sallys), and I use this Nioxin #3 scalp treatment product. I tried the less expensive products sold at Sallys but they are not as good. These products have made a big difference in my hair – it looks so much fuller.

Within 4 months I noticed I have new hair growth at my forehead corner hairline where my hairline had receded quite a bit in the last year. It will take several years for it to completely fill in, if it does, but it is definitely filling in. It is only possible for me to actually see the hair growth in this area of my scalp because it was completely hairless and so it is easy to spot the growth.

After stopping the med, I also increased my vitamin intake to hopefully stimulate hair growth (Lysine 500mg and Biotin 500 mcg from a health food store – not a supermarket brand). I can’t say what is bringing the growth back – I’m sure quitting the med helped because the hair on my legs came back after quitting. But the Nioxin products made my hair look much better and fuller, than before using it.

I recently was given a sample of Moroccan Oil, Oil Treatment for ALL Types of Hair, by my hair dresser (the real product [expensive but it goes a long way], not a copy – tried a copy and it wasn’t good at all). That is also helping to make my hair soft and nice. I purchased a bottle )amazon sells this too) and have added that to the hair products I use. My once-thick hair is finally looking fuller, softer, and very nice. I’m relieved!

    A Kid’s Review

cursed with baby fine hair all my life and not too much of it – now in my sixties and on medication which makes things worse – Nioxin products have made a significant difference to the thickness and strength of my hair. I also use the shampoo (cleanser) and the conditioner (scalp therapy) in both cases a little goes a long way.

I am a 48 year old female. I started losing my hair after a complete hysterectomy 5 years ago. I tried many of the top stylist’s products for hair loss without seeing any improvement. Most were more expensive than the Nioxin. For months I have been using the Nioxin System 3 cleanser, scalp therapy (basically daily conditioner you rinse out), scalp activator, scalp treatment and recharging complex (gel capsules). With this program I don’t lose near the amount of hair I was. Yes, it is a lot of products and it adds up to a lot of money, but it was worth it to me to stop losing handfuls of hair.

I started out with a starter package – small sizes of the cleanser, scalp therapy and scalp treatment. Before I had finished it I could notice an improvement. I then added the scalp activator and later the recharging complex. Each step seemed to improve upon the last, so you can decide how many of the products you want in your regimen. Perhaps the original 3 will be enough for some people.

I didn’t give it 5 stars because it hasn’t completely stopped the hair loss – it significantly reduced it.
